I have new quilts on the design wall to share this week!

I am trying something new with this quilt and working on a large-scale block. You will know that I love piecing small pieces, so I thought I would challenge myself with a 18 inch block. I have selected heaps of different Kaffe fabrics only, in a range of colours. Unusually for me, I have cut all pieces before starting the stitching. Now I am beginning to plan the whole quilt on my design wall, but it is so big it will not fit on my design wall…so I will get to start sewing it soon.

The other quilt that I started gently and slowly in September 2022 is a sea/fishing quilt. I have not yet decided on the final layout, so have added blocks to the design wall to begin the decision making. I have enjoyed collecting lots of themed fabrics for this one which will take a while as I applique and piece and design towards a finish.

The eye spy Hexagon quilt is about to have the 11th row of hexagons attached. I think I only need another two rows before I get to the borders.

Here are some of the smaller quilts that I finished quilts during 2022. I like to have a stack of smaller lap/cot sized quilts ready for a quick gift and I use these often to play with colours and often I try to quilt these myself to practice my quilting skills.

Pinwheels has small blocks on point with alternate blocks in blue with the orange border.

I was once gifted a 1930s fabric pack and this little 9 patch was the result and I don’t often use white fabrics.

Going Round (quilted by Susan of Rowdy Flat Quilting) was completed after some years sitting unfinished and was an example of a collaboration between Susan and myself…it would not have been completed without Susans ideas.

Attic Windows is also completed.

Scrappy 9 patch. This was another colour play, this time with pink and green.

In other progress, following a request for my Entwined pattern, I reviewed it and that has resulted in a complete update and re-write of the pattern and it will be on my website very soon.

Have a wonderful week.
