I have been thinking and planning this for more than a year! The time has finally come to commit to the greater possibilities of blog writing. There was a time when I thought I would not have enough words to post a regular blog, I think that I was mistaken. In almost a year I have posted regularly on Instagram and found that I did have lots to share.

So here goes, the beginning of my quilt blog journey. I find that I need a rhythm and regularity to my quilting life, so I am hoping that I get to post a blog on a regular basis, sometime early in each week. If you are reading this blog, it means that my new website is completed and ready for your visit. The website has been completely redeveloped with new features (and new photos) including a new shop.

With all my quilt patterns now being slowly converted to digital downloads, there is a Clearance section where I will progressively sell the last of my paper printed patterns. These will be the last printed patterns that I will produce and will be available only for postage within Australia. The current unreliability of international postage makes postage to other destinations too challenging.

The most important new feature is the shop that will enable you to instantly download patterns for my quilt designs. I have revised the first three of my most popular patterns into digital downloads. Over the coming months I will continue the revision and PDF copies of patterns and add them to the shop on a regular basis. As I have also been working on new patterns, I also plan to release 4 new patterns each year, all instant PDF pdf editions of my patterns.

Our family has a ‘birthday season’ with all birthday celebrations within a 3-month period, so my stitching and quilting progress has been slightly slower recently as we have shared important family milestones. But I have managed to plant some new fruit trees including a fig tree and one day, I hope that it becomes as productive as this beautiful old tree.

I have been making progress on some secret stitching for exhibitions recently and have almost completed another couple of tops that I will share when I can. In addition, I am also finally working on patterns for quilts that I have had in development for quite a while. If you have seen my quilts, you will know that I love colourful quilts with a strong graphical composition and I meander across traditional, contemporary and art styles of quiltmaking.

In the meantime, I look forward to your feedback and thoughts on my blog and the great new website.
